Our Wedding

How did you meet?

Skyler: We met the first day of Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta remote control ballooning. She came up to me and asked me for help with her "Fire-kite". I helped her get the balloon standing up. Natasha: Skyler actually friended me on Facebook a few weeks prior to Fiesta, but I think we first met when I was trying to set up my RC balloon without burning down all of the big balloons.

Describe an early memory of your relationship

Skyler: I came out to crew for Natasha for a Top Gun competition flight. We got the balloon set up and she launched, only then did I realize that I was going to be in the chase vehicle with her parents for the next hour, my first time meeting them. Thankfully, the chase and the flight went great. Natasha: I knew there was something special when I met Skyler. Our friends impressed upon each of us that we should give it a serious go. But the moment I remember most was at tailgate the day we met, and removing his sunglasses to see that he was hiding his baby blue eyes.

Whats your favorite thing about eachother

Skyer: How loving she is. Natasha: His patience. He's the calm to my storm.

whats one of your favorite memories together

Skyler: Her first US Women's Nationals competition staying at the Pommier Hotel a super un-fancy hotel that we pretended was VERY fancy (pronounced with your best, snooty voice "Poom-yeah" that has since become our voice for all things fancy, think Robin Leach). Natasha: The first time we went fishing together with Mom and Dad. I did not expect to catch fish, and in fact caught more than pro-fisherman Skyler, but each time I swung the pole around to him yelling "Get it off, get it off!" so as not to harm to fish we weren't intending to keep. Mom's summary at the end of the day was that Skyler was a saint for putting up with me.

Skyler's best friend for over 20 years.  Jason and Skyler's adventures have included flying remote control airplanes, fishing, wind-surfing, and kite-boarding in the snow.

Alexis is Natasha's "sister-cousin" by genetics due to their identical twin dads.   Alexis is Natasha's mentor, confidant, friend, and travel companion.

Toby is Skyler's best flying buddy and compitition teammate.  Their flying events have ranged from Albuquerque to FAI World Championships in Ukraine.

Jessica is Natasha's younger "sister-cousin" by common misconception, as these two were often confused for sister's while they attended Santa Fe High School together.  Jessica and Natasha share a love of animals; Jessica's farm being one of Natasha's favorite places on to visit and snuggle newborn lambs.

Skyler was Ian's number one navigator for hot air balloon competitions and long time crew member, until Skyler met Natasha.  Though Ian still misses Skyler in that regard, they remain the strongest of friends.

Sarah is Natasha's newest friend and Skyler's sister.  Sarah's endless creative talents include set design, make-up, painting, drawing, and sewing.

Chris is Natasha's best friend from hot air balloon ground school.  Chris has been there for Natasha and Skyler for every step of their relationship, including pivotal planning and help with Skyler's proposal.

PLEASE be aware that there are numerous small towns and reservation land where posted speeds decrease to 35 or 45 miles per hour. Please abide by posted speed limits to avoid costly tickets. If you are in the area, the bride and groom invite you to join the pre-wedding Lake Day! Weather permitting, we are planning a day of relaxing, fishing, swimming (cool temperatures), boating, and lounging at Abiquiu Lake, Friday May 16th, 2025. The water is anticipated to be cold and life-jackets are a must for swimming and water-sports. Please be aware Abiquiu has a no alcohol policy that is enforced. Those wanting to fish, please obtain a license at https://wildlife.dgf.nm.gov/.
